Adenuric

Adenuric is a prescription medication used to lower uric acid levels in adults with gout, a condition caused by too much uric acid in the blood, which can lead to painful joint inflammation. Adenuric works by blocking an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which helps reduce uric acid production in the body. It is typically used when other medications like allopurinol are not suitable or have not worked.

• Dose adjustments may be needed for patients with mild to moderate kidney issues, but Adenuric is generally not recommended for severe kidney disease without careful medical supervision.
• Do not stop taking Adenuric without consulting your doctor, even if gout symptoms improve.

Warnings and Precautions

• Not for use during acute gout attacks—it is meant for long-term control of uric acid, not immediate pain relief.
• May increase the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke, especially in patients with pre-existing heart conditions—discuss your cardiovascular history with your doctor before starting.
• Rare cases of severe allergic reactions, including skin rash, liver problems, and kidney issues, have been reported—seek medical help if you experience signs like rash, yellowing of the skin, or swelling.
• Regular blood tests may be needed to monitor uric acid levels and liver function.
• Not recommended if you are allergic to febuxostat or any ingredients in Adenuric.

Usage Instructions

• Take one tablet daily, exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Continue taking it daily, even if you feel well or your gout symptoms are under control.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but skip it if it’s almost time for your next dose—do not double up on doses.
• Drinking plenty of fluids may help prevent kidney stones.

Common Side Effects
