Zyprexa Velotab 10mg (Turkey) is used for treating schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. This oral medication is suitable for adults and children at least 13 years old. This antipsychotic medication is available under the generic name Olanzapine.

Zyprexa Velotab belongs to a group of drugs called atypical antipsychotics. These medications function by relieving symptoms associated with schizophrenia and manic depression.

This medication stabilizes the chances of mania in individuals with bipolar disorder. It also relieves severe anxiety, depression, and agitation.

Precautions and Warnings

Avoid taking Zyprexa Velotab if you are allergic to olanzapine. Before taking this medication, tell your healthcare professional if you have a history of the following conditions:

• Liver disease
• High cholesterol
• Seizure
• Enlarged prostate
• Bowel problems
• Diabetes
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Stroke
• Heart problems
• Breast cancer

Do not consume alcohol during your treatment of Zyprexa Velotab. Besides making your treatment less effective, it worsens schizophrenia and bipolar disorder cases.

Dosage

Zyprexa Velotab comes in oral tablet form. It has four strengths – 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, and 20 mg.

The recommended dosage for Zyprexa Velotab:

• Take 10 mg of Zyprexa Velotab once per day for schizophrenia treatment and prevention of manic episodes.
• Take 15 mg of Zyprexa Velotab once per day for treatment of mania.

Dosage adjustment is possible depending on the patients’ response to the treatment. It involves their tolerance to the treatment.
