Uses of Lamivir S
Lamivir S is a combination of two anti-HIV medicines: Lamivudine + Stavudine. They prevent HIV (virus) from multiplying, thereby reducing the amount of virus in your body. They also increase the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in your blood.
Precautions and Warnings
Lamivir S is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to lamivudine, stavudine, or any other inactive ingredients present along with the formulation. Is not recommended for use in patients with a moderate to severe liver impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition.

Lamivir S should be used with extreme caution in patients with mild liver impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Lamivir S may cause fat gain or fat loss from the body. This may result in peripheral wasting, facial wasting, breast enlargement, and Cushingoid appearance. Close monitoring of body weight and body fat distribution is necessary while receiving this medicine. Any changes in the body should be informed to the doctor on priority. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Dosage
Dosage of Lamivir S can vary depending on the condition being treated, the patient’s age, weight, kidney function, and other factors.
For HIV Infection in adults and adolescents the typical dosage is 300 mg daily, either as a single 300 mg dose or as 150 mg twice daily. For children the dosage is will be based on body weight.
