Banzel is a seizure medication, also called an anti-epileptic or anticonvulsant. Is used together with other medicines to treat seizures caused by Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy that also causes developmental and behavior problems. Banzel is for use in adults and children who are at least 1 year old.

Dosage
- Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (children ≥1 year and adults):
Starting dose is approximately 10 mg/kg/day, divided into two doses
Maintenance dose typically ranges from 45 mg/kg/day to a maximum of 3200 mg/day (whichever is lower)
Dosage should be increased gradually, usually every other day - Tablets should be taken with food to improve absorption
- The oral suspension must be shaken well before dosing and measured with a proper device
Warnings and Precautions
- May cause serious skin reactions (including DRESS syndrome); discontinue if symptoms occur
- Can cause central nervous system effects such as dizziness, fatigue, and coordination problems
- Risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior; patients should be monitored for mood changes
- Use caution in patients with liver disease; not recommended in severe hepatic impairment
- May shorten the QT interval on ECG; avoid in patients with familial short QT syndrome
- Should not be stopped abruptly due to risk of increased seizures
Usage Instructions
- Take Banzel twice daily with food, as prescribed by a doctor
- Tablets should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed
- Oral suspension must be shaken well and measured carefully
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next dose
- Do not discontinue without medical advice
Storage Information
- Store at room temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F)
- Keep away from moisture and heat
- Oral suspension should be used within 90 days after opening
- Store out of reach of children
