Uses of Zomig Rapimelt

Zomig Rapimelt is used for treating acute migraine with or without aura in adults. This headache medicine works by narrowing blood vessels around the brain. It helps eliminate the headache and symptoms of a migraine attack, such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Zomig Rapimelt is available under the generic name Zolmitriptan. It belongs to a group of drugs called antimigraine agents.

Precautions and Warnings

Do not use Zomig Rapimelt if you have:

• Hypersensitivity to any known ingredient of this product
• Uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Coronary vasospasm
• History of cerebrovascular accident

To ensure Zomig Rapimelt is safe to use, tell your healthcare professional if you have a history of the following conditions:

• Cardiovascular problems
• Epilepsy or seizures
• Liver problems
• Kidney disease

Dosage

In terms of its pharmaceutical form, Zomig Rapimelt is available as an orodispersible tablet. It means that the tablet disintegrates rapidly in the mouth.

The recommended dose is 2.5 mg of Zomig Rapimelt within 24 hours of a migraine attack. If a second dose is necessary, take another 2.5 mg of Zomig Rapimelt.

Water is not necessary when taking Zomig Rapimelt. Once it enters your mouth, it rapidly dissolves on the tongue. This medication is applicable to patients who do not like drinking drugs while suffering from nausea during migraine attacks.
