Dificid

Dificid (fidaxomicin) is an antibiotic used to treat Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infections in adults and children over 6 months old. This infection causes severe diarrhea and stomach problems, often after taking other antibiotics.

Dosage

How to Use

• Take at the same times each day
• Complete the full course, even if symptoms improve early
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible unless it’s close to the next scheduled dose
• Do not double doses to make up for a missed one

Storage

• Store at room temperature (20–25°C)
• Keep in the original packaging, away from moisture and heat
• Keep out of reach of children

Side Effects

• Common: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, headache
• Other possible: anemia (low red blood cell count), changes in liver function tests
• Serious (seek help): severe diarrhea after treatment, signs of allergic reaction (rash, swelling, breathing problems)
