Uses of Seretide Accuhaler (India)

Seretide Accuhaler 50/100mcg (India) is a mixture of two medicines – Salmeterol and Fluticasone Propionate. It helps patients breathe easier and treats asthma, asthmatic symptoms like shortness of breath and wheezing.

Salmeterol and Fluticasone Propionate have different functions but, when combined, they relieve chest tightness and coughing. Salmeterol is a type of bronchodiPoppinsr that relaxes the muscles and widens the airways. On the other hand, Fluticasone Propionate is a type of steroid that inhibits the release of a chemical messenger that triggers inflammation or swelling in the airways.

Seretide Accuhaler is also beneficial in treating COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder). Only use this medication for children 12 years old and above.

Warnings and Precautions

Avoid this medicine if you are hypersensitive to Salmeterol and Fluticasone Propionate. Use Seretide Accuhaler with caution if you have a history of seizures. Parental guidance is also necessary for children taking this medicine. Although rare, Seretide Accuhaler can cause growth retardation in some pediatrics. Closely monitor your children’s dosage when using this medication.

If you are pregnant, Seretide Accuhaler may be unsafe for you. Consult your doctor first before using this medication. For breastfeeding women, Seretide Accuhaler is safe to use under medical supervision only. Although it does not cause significant risk to the infant, ask permission from your doctor first.

Minimize drinking alcohol. Despite the lack of evidence on its impact on your treatment, alcohol consumption can also interact with Seretide Accuhaler.

Dosage

Below are the recommended dosages for Seretide Accuhaler:

• One inhalation of Seretide Accuhaler twice per day. This particular dose contains 50 mcg salmeterol and 100 mcg fluticasone propionate.
• One inhalation of Seretide Accuhaler twice per day. This particular dose contains 50 mcg salmeterol and 250 mcg fluticasone propionate.
• One inhalation of Seretide Accuhaler twice per day. This particular dose contains 50 mcg salmeterol and 500 mcg fluticasone propionate.
