Use of Plavix

Plavix is a widely used medication primarily prescribed for the prevention of blood clots in individuals at risk for cardiovascular events. Its active ingredient, clopidogrel, belongs to a class of drugs known as antiplatelets, which work by preventing platelets in the blood from sticking together and forming clots.

Clopidogrel, the key component of Plavix, inhibits platelet aggregation by blocking the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its receptor on platelets, thereby reducing the risk of clot formation.
