Uses of Celebrex

Use Celebrex 100mg to treat osteoarthritis (OA). It is sold under the generic name Celecoxib, with special properties in alleviating pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and painful menstruation. Besides Celebrex, Celecoxib is available under the brand names Onsenal and Elyxyb.

What is Celebrex used for? Celebrex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that works by targeting the inflammation in the body. It also functions by inhibiting Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) from triggering inflammation in body areas where an injury is present. Celebrex is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by many conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and menstrual pain. The same medicine is also used in treating rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, dysmenorrhea, and other chronic pain.

Precautions and Warnings

Following consumption of Celebrex, certain medical conditions such as stomach and intestinal bleeding may occur. Note that these conditions can happen without any warning. If this occurs to you, contact your doctor immediately to get urgent treatment.

Dosage

The required dosage for this type of medication is 100 mg to 200 mg of Celebrex to be consumed on a daily basis. Other dosages will be given depending on the type of disease or condition that needs treatment.
