Uses of Suboxone

Suboxone is a prescription medication used to treat opioid dependence (addiction). It contains two active ingredients:

• Buprenorphine: A partial opioid agonist that helps reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms without causing intense euphoria.
• Naloxone: An opioid antagonist that prevents misuse by blocking opioid effects if the medication is injected.

Is used for:

• Treatment of opioid dependence (heroin, tramadol, codeine, or morphine addiction)
• Managing withdrawal symptoms during detoxification
• Maintenance therapy to prevent relapse
• Reducing opioid cravings

Precautions and Warnings

Always use under medical supervision to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Use with Caution if you have:

• Respiratory Issues: May cause breathing difficulties, especially in people with lung disease.
• Sedation & Drowsiness: Avoid alcohol and sedatives as they can increase drowsiness and respiratory risks.
• Dependence & Withdrawal: Do not stop using abruptly to avoid withdrawal symptoms; follow a doctor’s instructions.
• Liver Health: Can affect liver function; regular monitoring may be needed for people with liver disease.
• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Consult a doctor as it may affect the baby.
• Drug Interactions: Can interact with other medications, including antidepressants and benzodiazepines.

Do not use Suboxone Film Soluble if:

• You have a severe breathing disorder.
• You are allergic to buprenorphine or naloxone.
• You are taking certain sedatives or alcohol.

Dosage

Always follow the doctor’s prescription. The initial dose is usually 2 mg to 4 mg. The dose may be increased gradually based on the patient’s response. Do not stop the medication suddenly without medical advice to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Side Effects

Common Side Effects:

• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Sweating
• Dizziness
• Insomnia

Serious Side Effects:

• Difficulty breathing
• Severe allergic reactions (rash, swelling)
• Liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes)
• Fainting
• Confusion
